Kayhan Kalhor is an internationally recognized Iranian Kurdish kamancheh (spiked violin) and setar player and vocal composer who has been crucial in popularizing Persian music around the world through his various musical collaborations. He has three Grammy nominations for Best Traditional Music Album. As a part of the Silk Road Ensemble, Kalhor has received two Grammy nominations and one Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album.

Kayhan Kalhor is a cultural icon in Iran, particularly for the way he plays the kamancheh. The entire picture is one-of-a-kind. This project includes the recreation of seven prior Kalhor albums.
The objective was to find something that would keep the focus on Kalhor's traits and movements while he played music. So we targeted close-up shots of him to express to the audience the delicate essence of his lovely music and ethereal works.
